Jack-o-lanterns, Sugar Loaf, NY

From ghoulies and ghosties
And long-leggedy beasties
And things that go bump in the night,
Good Lord, deliver us!
~Scottish Prayer

May Jack-o-lanterns burning bright
Of soft and golden hue
Pierce through the future’s veil and show
What fate now holds for you.

When black cats prowl and pumpkins gleam,
May luck be yours on Halloween.

Image by Terry Boswell "Blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love."I took this photo a few years ago. If you take notice you will see that it’s decorated with hearts. We had  bought a cut-fresh-that-day tree on Christmas Eve. It was still fresh after New Years and I just couldn’t bring myself to take it down. When it got close to Valentine’s Day, I stripped off the Christmas ornaments, cut hearts from paper and decorated the tree with those. It became my Valentine’s tree :-) I edited the photo last year and added the quote. I am captivated by the quote because it seems to me that each year the spirit of Christmas survives and transcends commercialism, overflows religious confines, and spills out amongst all. Everyone can get on board with love and goodwill no matter their religious or non-religious proclivities. Wishing you all peace and joy this holiday season! ~Terry

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!

Porcelain mug doubling as a beer stein. Wheel thrown with a pulled handle by Andy Boswell. Celedon and black glaze. Andy Boswell’s mugs are not only good for a hot cup of tea, coffee or cocoa…. they’re pretty great for a cold ale to toast a Happy Saint Patrick’s Day as well!

… or how about a green smoothie in one of Andy’s mugs?Green smoothie in a celedon green mug made on the potter's wheel by Andy BoswellI made this extra green smoothie as follows…

Throw all of the following into a blender, just make sure everything is cut into blender friendly sized pieces, and blend until smooth.

1 cucumber (about 1 – 1 1/2 cups)
3 kale leaves (about 1/2 cup)
1 apple
1 – 2 tsp. raw honey
1 tbl. chlorophyll (optional for extra nutrition and extra green!)
a handful of ice

Count your blessings, not your woes. ~ Irish Proverb

Have a Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!
